Our Story: From a Hospital Wing to the Playroom
As a physician leader and a mom, I've spent my career navigating spaces where confidence is the key to leadership. But the inspiration for Hear Me Roar didn't come from a boardroom—it came from watching my twin niece and nephew.
I realized that while the world was telling my nephew he could be an astronaut or an explorer, the messaging for my niece felt... smaller. I saw the "confidence gap" starting before she could even tie her shoes.
I decided to change the narrative.
Hear Me Roar is a curated collection of empowering apparel designed to remind girls (and the women who raise them) that they are bold by nature. We've stripped away the "fast fashion" noise to focus on high-quality, meaningful pieces that stand for something.
We aren't just selling t-shirts. We're equipping the next generation of leaders to find their voice and use it.
Welcome to the pride.

Our Story
The journey of Hear Me Roar started 7 years ago with the arrival of twins - a new niece and nephew to spoil! Shopping for a boy and a girl of the same age was an exciting experience that consistently ended in disappointment. Retailers' clothes for boys project confidence and strength, whereas girls' clothes focus on beauty and gentle kindness.
Studies show that by age 6, girls avoid situations for children who are "really, really smart" and are even less likely to associate other girls as "really, really smart."
The Confidence Code found that between the ages of 8 and 14, "girls' confidence levels drop by 30%."
Ypulse added to this data to show that "as girls & boys move through their teen years and into early adulthood, girls never catch up to their male peers."
We could not find clothing brands that projected the type of positive messages we want for our girls - so we did it ourselves!
Hear Me Roar is a WOC-owned small business here to bridge this gap in self-esteem and encourage our girls to have the confidence to achieve anything!
